Pharisee or a follower of Christ?

Inspired by a Post from a dear friend, I want to add my “two-cents” and share something on my heart… For my Christian friends…
Are you being a Pharisee or a follower of Christ?
The Pharisees loved the law above all else and were quick to judge and convict. Christ loved God and us above all else and taught that it is the Holy Spirit’s job to convict. Remember the “Judge not” and “the plank in your own eye” clauses? We are called to love others and through our faith and love lead others to Christ. So why all of this hate speech and judgement? Are you loving your neighbor to Christ with your words, deeds (and even Posts)? Let me give you two examples here.
John 4:4-26 – When Jesus met the woman at the well, He knew all about her sexual sin. He asked her for a drink a water and engaged her in conversation. He basically led her to himself and who he was. Imagine how different the interaction and the outcome if Jesus had said “Yo, whore, fetch me some water.” Or “Hey, slut, back away from that clean water.” Jesus didn’t compromise His beliefs or morals during this interaction; neither did he say adultery is now ok for everyone. He said, with his actions, that this woman was more important than her sins.
John 8:1-11 The Pharisees brought the adulteress who was “caught in the act” out into the street in front of Jesus with the intention to stone her. (As far as I know adultery is NEVER a solitary act but there is no mention of the adulterer and his sins.) Jesus didn’t yell “Get her boys!” and grab a stone. He responded “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.”
So my challenge… are you being a follower of Christ and loving people to God? Or are you being a Pharisee and worshipping the law? If you believe your brother or sister is living in sin, then pray for them and let God and the Holy Spirit convict their heart if they are. Do your job and let God do His. You must also be open to the Holy Spirit convicting your heart, which is, by far, the harder task.
